In 2007, Therabody founder Dr. Jason Wersland got into a traumatic motorcycle accident that left him with debilitating muscle and nerve pain. Realising the only viable options to alleviate his pain were prescription medicine or surgery, he designed a makeshift device out of a power tool to ease his discomfort. That invention became the category-defining percussive therapy device, Theragun.
He spent the next eight years developing five different prototypes, devoted to finding a solution that worked. Since then, the brand expanded wellness solutions way beyond percussive therapy to cater to every lifestyle, and Therabody was born.
