Boots gift cards are also available to buy from selected third-party retailers. They are redeemable in the same way as one bought from Boots and the same terms and conditions apply.

You can purchase a maximum of six gift cards in one go, perfect if you need to buy for several family members or friends.

You can purchase a gift card up to the value of €250 and a minimum of €10.


Gift cards can be used on and redeemed in-store, but e-cards can only be used on, not in-store.

You can use up to five gift cards in any one transaction, up to the value of €500 within a 24 hour period.

You can use your gift card or e-card to purchase most items, but there are a few exclusions such as mobile top-up, purchase of another gift card, prescriptions and CEWE photo stations in-store or

You can pay with your gift card in any of our Boots stores by presenting it to a member of staff at the tills or by scanning it at the self-checkouts.

You can also use your gift card on in-store orders by taking the product code or product description to a member of staff at the tills who will place the order for you.

Our gift cards can be used for both full and part payment.

Gift cards that are purchased in-store can be topped up by taking them to a member of staff at the tills in your nearest Boots store. Gift cards bought online are currently unable to be topped up.


Gift cards are credit card sized plastic cards that can be loaded or topped up to the value of €250 and a minimum of €10 and can be redeemed online and in-store. E-cards are an electronic version of our gift cards that can only be redeemed online.

The PIN is on the back of your gift card. Simply scratch off the panel and it is an eight digit number.

Your gift card is valid for 24 months from the last time you used it.

You will earn Advantage Card points as normal when using your gift card to purchase products across store, but you cannot earn points with a purchase of the gift card itself.

10% student discount can be used alongside a gift card when purchasing anything available in our stores. Please note, student discount cannot be used on our in-store ordering service and you cannot use your discount to purchase a gift card.


If you return your items in-store, you will receive your refund in the form of a physical gift card. Your physical gift card can be redeemed online or in-store. 

If you choose to send your items back to us via our warehouse (using our free-post label), then you will receive an e-gift card to the value of your refund. You will receive your new e-gift card in our refund email, which will contain a link with details of how to redeem your new e-gift card. Please note: You will only be able to spend your e-gift card online. 

Gift cards purchased from a Boots store or online cannot be returned and are not refundable. If you purchased the gift card from a third-party retailer, please check directly with them. 

No, gift cards can't be redeemed for cash.

In this instance, your gift card will always be refunded first and your debit/credit card, three to five working days later.

When receiving your refund for an order placed using a credit/debit card and gift card, you might see different figures in the refund email you receive. This is because your gift card will be the primary refund method (up to the value spent on your gift card in that transaction).

If you are not expecting a full refund (for instance, part of your order had been cancelled or couldn't be dispatched, or you returned part of your order), your refund will be issued to a new e-gift card before being refunded to your credit/debit card if there is outstanding refund value.


Please look after your gift card as we cannot except liability for lost, stolen or damaged cards.

Your e-card has cash value and should be safeguarded as such. Boots is not responsible if your Boots e-card is lost, stolen, destroyed or used without your permission.

Simply set up an account using the self-registration process. Once your account is activated you can purchase our gift cards in bulk.
