FAQs - delivery & collecting from store

Can I receive a delivery if I am self-isolating?

Yes, our drivers are posting items through the letter box or leaving packages in a safe place. We've set-up a code system that allows our drivers to confirm when they've delivered your parcel, taking away the need for a signature.

Will I receive updates on my order if it's delayed?

Yes. We're working hard to deliver all orders on time but if your order is delayed, we will text you to let you know.

What do I do if an item I have ordered goes out of stock?

If an item goes out of stock after you've ordered we'll cancel the items and you won't be charged.

Product availability

If our range looks a little smaller than usual, it's because we've reduced some of our lines to help make sure you can get your order delivered quickly.

What can you expect in store?

We're constantly monitoring the changes to national and local restrictions and will update the safety measures in our stores in line with the latest guidance. If you have any question we suggest contacting your local store before you visit.

We’re so proud of all our pharmacists and store colleagues who are working hard every day to provide you with prescriptions and healthcare essentials in store. We encourage everyone to shop online where possible however, we recognise that sometimes you may need to visit a store, so we’ve implemented some necessary changes to keep everyone safe.

Measures to keep you & our colleagues safe

Social distancing

We’re limiting the amount of people in store at any one time so at busier times you may be asked to queue outside. To help you maintain a distance of two metres from other customers and store workers, you’ll find floor markings both inside and outside to show you where to queue to enter and to checkout. We’ve also put up Perspex protector screens at our tills and pharmacy counters to keep our dedicated staff safe.

Face coverings

In line with recent Government guidelines, all customers and store colleagues should be wearing a face coverings or PPE when in store.
Please be aware that some people have a medical exemption to this and therefore will not be wearing a mask.

One way system

Where necessary, we have a one-way system in place to help limit contact between customers. You’ll see arrows on the floor to guide you around the shop in the right direction.

Contactless payments & Advantage Card points

We ask that you avoid cash and use contactless payment where possible. The nationwide limit for contactless has been increased from €30 to €45 to reduce physical contact at the checkout.

You can still enjoy the amazing benefits of your Advantage Card by downloading our app and linking your card. Simply open the app and scan your phone at the checkout to use your offers and collect points on your shop.

Cleaning

Our stores are cleaned regularly, with particular attention paid to key touchpoints. If you have an appointment, please be assured that we will use disposable equipment where possible and thoroughly clean the area.

Changes to in store beauty consultations

Beauty consultations can be pre-booked in store and consultants will follow updated safety plans, which include strict PPE guidelines and tool sanitisation. You will be required to wear a mask throughout your appointment.

You will once again be able to test premium make-up, with disposable applicators dispensed by a beauty advisor or consultant. Perfume testers are back, with strict hygiene and hand-washing measures overseen by the Boots team.

You can still enjoy amazing beauty inspiration from Boots by heading to our beauty content hub for make-up tutorials, skincare tips and more.

The Make-Up Exchange Promise

Our premium beauty advisors are back to help you choose the right product for you but where you can’t test a make-up product in our stores, you can exchange it up to 35 days from the time of purchase.

Changes to store operating hours

Currently all our stores are open but some stores may have altered their usual opening hours. Please contact your local store for their most up-to-date opening hours.

You may be asked to observe social distancing, particularly during busy periods, to try and limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
