Put away your personalised PJs – your sleeping position packs more personality

Hold up! Let’s get one thing straight – there’s nothing better than bedtime, right? You may disagree but in reality, what beats fresh sheets and an early night? Anyway, have you ever given how you sleep some thought?

Fluff your pillows and bury your head under your duvet, we’re about to reveal what your sleeping position says about you.

The foetal position

Sleeping like a baby (literally) is one of the most popular positions for a sweet slumber, and curling up into a ball is mostly favoured by females. If you’re partial to this position, you can count yourself as a secret softy. Although you may come across as tough on the outside, inside there’s a warm, gooey centre. Aww!

Starfish

Summed up in two words – mattress hogger – starfish sleepers like to spread their wings while they sleep. If you sleep like a sea creature, then you’re a good listener and a friendly face others can count on.

The stargazer

Just like a hard to spot shooting star, the stargazer position is a rarity in the land of nod. You’re unique, we get it. Yet lying on your back with your arms stretched above your head says more about you than you’d think. Stargazers put other people first and will go above and beyond for those they hold dear. We all need a stargazer in our lives.

Pillow hugger

Hug it out! With arms, legs or both wrapped round a pillow, pillow huggers LOVE a cuddle. Whether it’s family or friends, snoozing in this way says a lot about your caring personality. A pillow hugger always considers relationships with people high on their priority list. What a cutie.

Freefall form

Geronimo! Sky diving and sleeping don’t usually go hand in hand, but lying on your stomach with your hands tucked under a pillow can feel like you’re sinking into the clouds below. If you’re a freefall sleeper, you’re both confident and bold in social situations, and aren’t afraid of a challenge. Sky dive anyone?

Soldier stance

Stand to attention! This sleeping position needs no introduction (or explanation). Sleeping on your back with your arms parallel to your sides suggests you’re a reserved and serious kind of person. Good news, being a sleepy soldier can also mean you have a love of structure. Bad news, sleeping in this way can lead to snoring. Fear not, we’ve got just the solution. Help ease your snoring with Sleepeaze Snoring Throat Spray – you don’t need to tell us, we know we’re angels.

The log

Sleeping like a log (wouldn’t we all like to?) doesn’t look the most appealing, but snoozing this way, on your side with your arms down beside you, reveals your inner care-free nature. If that wasn’t enough, chances are you’re likely to be a bit of a social butterfly too – show-off. For a relaxing send off into the land of nod after a busy day socialising, spritz a pillow mist onto your sheets and get your calming 40 winks.

The thinker

Pondering doesn’t pause at bed time! Sleepers who snooze in the thinker position gently rest their hand on or near their chin, and similarly to foetal position fans, thinkers curl up in a ball. Although the name indicates intellect, being a thinker sleeper reveals more about your emotions. Chances are you experience a wide range of emotions, and don’t bottle up how you feel.

The yearner

And stretch! If you’re a yearning sleeper (clue’s in the name) you’re sleeping with your arm outstretched as if to reach for something. In the land of the living, a yearner sleeper is likely to be open-minded and non-judgmental. As well as being all that, you’re also honest about your feelings and like to make others feel welcome in your presence. High-five!

And there you have it, how we sleep helps us to piece together who we are when we’re awake. Did someone say nap time?
