BOOTS PODCAST

We ask the taboo health & wellbeing questions so you don’t have to

S06 E01 - Sober curious: The booze-free experience with Scott Thomas, Millie Gooch and Spencer Matthews

Are you sober curious or want to go teetotal? With the help of three inspiring sober-influencers we investigate why more people than ever are becoming ‘sober curious’ and the positive health benefits it has on you physically and mentally. We also discuss the impact that going sober has within your social circles and most of all, advice for challenging temptation. We present you a sober life survival guide to help you lead a happy and healthy lifestyle.

To keep health risks from alcohol to a low level, the NHS advise both men and women not to regularly drink more than 14 units a week. If you’re concerned about your drinking or someone else’s, speak to a GP as there may be risks associated with suddenly stopping drinking alcohol.

S06 E02 - Coming out: How to live your authentic self with Duncan James and Chelcee Grimes

In this episode we delve into the topic of personal identity and acceptance: coming out. We’re joined by two fabulous guests who share their deeply personal journeys and summoned the courage to reveal their authentic selves, and we’ll also confront the stigmas and stereotypes that too often cast a shadow on this significant milestone. Join us, as we shed light on the triumphs, challenges, and, ultimately, the power of embracing one’s true self.

S06 E03 - Living with Diabetes with Marcel Somerville and Amelia Lily

Living with diabetes is a journey filled with unique challenges, daily decisions, and a profound impact on one’s life. Join us as we dive deep into the world of diabetes, sharing personal stories and practical advice to empower and educate anyone living with diabetes. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, a seasoned warrior, or someone who cares for a loved one with diabetes, or you just want to know more about this growing health concern, our special guests offer a helping hand on this shared journey towards a healthier, happier life.

S06 E04 - Dad diaries: Telling it how it really is with Ollie Locke and James Bye

Becoming a dad is a life-altering experience filled with joy, challenges, and a whole lot of learning. We delve into two very different, but equally unique journeys of fatherhood with two dads and explore the triumphs and tribulations that come with it while addressing out-dated notions, stigmas and stereotypes. We want to find the truth about how they really feel about being dads – breaking taboos about what dads ‘should’ feel or talk about. Whether you’re about to embark on this adventure or have been a dad for years, join us as we share honest and open stories, some laughs, and practical tips to help you thrive on your own dad journey.

S06 E05 - Think different: Tearing down the taboo on being neurodivergent with Christine McGuinness and Tommy Mallett

As more and more people are identifying themselves as being neurodivergent, we ask what this actually means. We’re joined by a neurodivergent expert who answers your most common questions and two guests who share their own experiences. From the challenges they faced growing up, being diagnosed, to how to manage it and why they are on a mission to change the conversations around being neurodivergent.

S06 E06 - Heartaches and breaks: Getting through a breakup with Una Healy and Faye Winter

The pain is real. Heartbreak is a universal human experience that can affect us all at some stage in life, yet it often carries a shroud of stigma, stereotypes, and taboos that prevent open and honest conversations. We get up close and personal with two amazing guests who share their raw and unfiltered stories and have suffered the pain of a broken heart and emerged stronger on the other side. Together we dismantle the barriers that keep us from understanding and supporting one another through love’s tumultuous journey so that we can feel more positive and empowered.

S06 E07 - Self-pleasure: Get to know your body with Ruby Rare and Nelly London

This episode is all about self-pleasure as a form of self-love. With help from our sexpert and body acceptance influencer we cover everything from the new “smart” sex toys (that can measure sexual pleasure and/or be operated remotely) to classic vibrators (both as masturbation tools and relationship toys), as well as empowering you to feel free to love yourself with no judgement or shame. Get excited!
