Medela Special Needs Feeder Bottle
Useful even for non-special needs babies
We bought this type of bottle after seeing it reviewed by The Baby Whisperer, the late Tracy Hogg. It is intended to help babies with cleft palettes, but actually is such a good design in helping the milk flow that our babies (both of whom do not suffer from any special condition) enjoy their feeds and do not suffer colic.
What's more, Medela products do not contain BPA plastic - which is considered harmful and toxic but is present in other bottles on sale in the UK despite being banned in Canada and being withdrawn in the USA (March 09). Medela products are safe!

Brilliant even for non-special needs babies
I used these for my son and had no wind/colic problems etc. I had seen them on The Baby Whisperer. I then went to buy them again when I had a daughter but was put off because they call them Special Needs bottles. So I used others and have had a nightmare with wind/colic etc. Thankfully I read the other reviewer (Roary) and decided to use these ones again and what a difference! There is less gulping and dribbling and my daughter is so much happier - they really should be re-labelled as saying they are for special needs will make people feel that does not apply to them if they don't have a child with Downs or cleft lip. The only down side is they don't make them over 5oz size which is a pain!

cant live with out
i bought this after getting advice from a tv programme. i used it on my 7 month old who i was breast feeding. she would not use any other bottle. just recently i left the bottle at my mums and she just refused to use any other bottle. the milk comes out much slower than other products. my advice however is you are gonna need more than one bottle, so save some money to buy two. she is now nine months and still using it will. i combine feed and she has no problem switching from breast to bottle. may be pricey but worth every penny
