Accu Check Have just been diagnosed with Diabetes and bought this item. Very easy and painless to use with quick and clear results. February 5, 2012
Could of been so much more. As a whole its a good machine especially for convenience, but there are some major drawbacks: test results are highly inaccurate, i find myself relying on my old machine whenever possible Ive found it can be as much as 4.0 off from one test to another. The thing randomly says i haven't applied enough blood when i clearly have, and then ANNOYINGLY you need to switch it entirely off to re-test which is awkward with a finger bleeding. This is just plain LAZY design. the existing buttons could easily be made to start a re-test. battery usage is high. the finger pricker doesn't go very deep if you have thicker skin like myself. just a victim of lazy cost cutting in an otherwise great device.. shame really. Easy to use I was given this device by Accu Chek as I have diabetes. The best thing this machine does that the others don't yet is the fact that you do not have to insert single test strips and dispose of them, they are simply loaded onto a cartridge inside the machine which means 1 less thing to carry, add to that the finger stabber can be fixed to the side of the machine, thats another thing less to carry! Well done Accu Chek! Another good thing about the machine is, you can connect it to the computer using a USB lead (not supplied, but its a standard micro usb lead) and you can view all your results, the software is preinstalled on the machine itself, no downloaded etc! Ok, the downside Its still quite big! technology has come such a far way, so things should be able to get less intrusive Also, a couple of times it said I had not placed enough blood on the strip and which meant I had to close the machine and reopen it to do another reading, not a massive thing I guess, at least I didn't have to open a container and pull a strip out and place it in the machine as with conventional readers. All in all, a good machine, well thought out, could be a little smaller, but apart from that, its great! June 27, 2012
