Body composition tells you what your body is made of: body fat, muscle and other (bones, organs, water). Most people are particularly interested in knowing their body fat and muscle mass because that’s what gives insight into their fitness and body health.
Body composition is measured on the TomTom Touch device using the same technology as smart scales: BIA or bio impedance analysis. It’s a mouthful, but simply put your TomTom Touch fitness tracker sends a small, harmless electrical current around your body. It then calculates your body fat muscle mass with an algorithm that uses how long the current takes to go through your body and how much resistance it encounters.
Monitor your heart rate throughout the day to get an indication of your fitness level.
