Really works for dry skin I've had eczema and dry and sensitive skin since childhood. Thankfully these days my eczema is better controlled, but I still suffer from very dry and sensitive skin. Around five years ago I was suffering from very dry skin, particularly around scars on my body I have from surgery. No other soap or dry skin treatment seemed to make any difference. I then remembered that as a child my sister had been prescribed Oilatum Bath for very dry skin, and in desperation checked out my local Boots store to see if it was still available. Five years on, I'm still a convert to the Oilatum way. I mainly just use Oilatum soap in the shower, and if occasionally I use the bath, I use Oilatum Bath. For small stubbornly dry patches of skin or post-eczema dry patches I use Oilatum cream, and I use Oilatum shampoo for hair washing, as I get eczema on my scalp too. I guess you could say I'm hooked! Oilatum is still the only skin care range I'm able to use on a regular basis, and even a few days break from using Oilatum soap leaves me starting to get itchy and dry again. As the blurb says, it really does cleanse your skin without drying. It doesn't lather quite as much as other soaps, I guess due to its higher oil content, but it is efective for cleaning, and doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy or oily afterwards Although the Oilatum range isn't medicated as such, I'd classify it as 'medicated' rather than a beauty product. Really the only down-side to the Oilatum range, including this Oilatum soap, is that it's significantly more expensive than your normal every-day soaps, but it's well worth it for the relief from dry skin and itching it gives! Hands are soo soft!! Been using this to try and calm down my broken skin so I can start using an eczema cream with steroids in. Only my second day of using it, paired with the Oilatum cream, but my hands are soo soft already! The only downside is the smell, reminds me of an old lady but if that's the only downside to using this then I don't care! March 10, 2013
For itchy skin I have used this product for a few years. Recommend to me by my GP for itchy skin. It seems to help a bit. April 22, 2014
