L'Oréal Prodigy 6.45 Amber 3.1 5 9 9
Fantastic and easy to use with no nasty smell Bought this online just from the picture on the box as the colour looked fab and the name 'Amber' sounded just like the colour i wanted, However, when it arrived in small writing under the Amber it said light mahogany brown, I knew then that the colour would be darker than I wanted as i was after a light auburn. My hair is a dark mousy blonde and the colour after dying is a mid red brown but it is lovely, it is extremely shiny and when the sun hits it it looks exactly like the colour on front of the box with the same glow and shine, but only when sun shining on it, normally it's quite dark but still lovely and shiny, seems to be lot's of multi tones and i've had lots of compliments, overall it's excellent colour just wish they did one a slightly lighter colour. To apply, this dye is just soooo easy to use, just squeeze the two tubes into the container and mix together with provided spatula, put the lid on and apply to hair, it came out of bottle like a white cream but had the texture of a thick serum, on the hair it went clear and looked like thick clear serum all over hair, no drip at all whatsoever, in fact i just clipped hair up while waiting and used no towel or anything it was fantastic, better than any foam or other dyes i have ever used, not one single run or drip, even my gloves had no drips or runs and the smell is just lovely, very light subtle creamy smell, nothing like usual dye smell. I have long quite fine hair and this was more than enough to cover it all. Definitely worth trying this product, for all colour is darker than i would like I will keep using it as i could not go back to using any other type of dye since using this, it's just fab! Not bad I found the mixing a bit of a pain, also when applying I had to open the container as there was a lot of product still inside and I didn't want to waste any. Think they need to find a better way of mixing and applying. I used three boxes as I have long thick hair. The mixture was nice and easily applied but the smell was not very nice, reminded me of the old plastercine we had as kids. It washed out fairly easy and I did wash with shampoo before conditioning, the conditioner smelt nice but didn't cover the smell of the dye. Was easy to comb through before drying. Overall the colour was a lot darker and redder than I wanted and didn't smell to good. Also it left my hair dry. So the next day I washed and conditioned with my own products and this made a lot of difference. A much better colour and condition. I would use again as in the end I liked the colour. If you want the colour on the box use something else as this is darker. Also it doesn't shine as they say. October 15, 2014
NOT the colour on the box I wanted a rich Amber, and as this was called 'Amber', I thought that might fit the bill. I spent about £20 stripping my hair beforehand so that I would get a colour-true shade. But no, I got dark-brown-with-a-red-undertone. So now I'm back to the drawing board, will need to rest rip it, recondition it and try another brand altogether. Application was the same as any other dye, not an offensive scent, but why there's a need for an extra bottle a and a stirring stick is beyond me. At the very least, the dye should be colour true, surely? Won't be buying again. Online system wouldn't let me post 1 star review, would give none if I could. October 28, 2014
