Delivered on almost all promises I've been dyeing my hair for about five year now; bleaching it blonde for four, red/ginger for one. As a result, my hair is dryer than straw on a sunny day in the sahara desert. It was in desperate need of some compensation. So, I took the risk that most home-hair-dyers will be familiar with and switched from my regular dye to this, based on its seemingly bold claims of improved hair condition. I've got to say, I'm pleasantly surprised (and relieved). Application is much like any other home-dye; roots first, then whack the rest on. I tend not to use the applicator bottles that get provided, and I'm glad I didn't attempt it with this one. The large tear-drop shaped bottle would have become slippery very quickly, and I doubt I would have been able to stop it from hitting the floor and making a mess. Additionally, the advice in the instructions to shove the bottle into a hole made in the side of the (now empty) box to 'keep it steady' sounded like a recipe for disaster too. Once you've got the fiddly roots done, putting the rest on is really easy, easier than I've found with other dyes, it very much felt like it was really coating my hair. However, I definitely stretched out the product, and my hair is only just past shoulder length. If you have long or very thick hair, you'll probably need another bottle. A further claim, that it didn't smell, was also proven to be true. I wouldn't say it was a 'sensorial experience', but it didn't sting my eyes and nose like normal, so that's an improvement. After washing everything out and letting it dry, I was met with an incredibly bright ginger red colour. Which I suppose is nice, however I wasn't expecting it to be quite this ginger. According to the colour prediction picture on the box, my naturally dark brown hair should have turned a darker shade of ginge'. Not the case, apparently. But I do quite like it; think Christina Hendricks, or Hayley Williams. The back has turned out a bit patchy, but that's probably just the result of having a lot of hair and the fact that it's on the back of my head and therefore hard to see. My hair does definitely feel softer and less brittle, I'm potentially a convert to this brand. October 28, 2013
Best hair dye I have ever used! I've been dyeing my hair at home for almost 10 years now and have tried almost every brand and colour you can think of. This is the best by far. To start with it actually smells nice! I know! What a shocker! It smells fruity and floral! It also doesn't sting your scalp during the dyeing process and is a thick creamy mixture that easily covers your hair. It left my hair soft, shiny and bright copper, my hair has never looked so good! Best Ginger dye on the market I've dyed my hair for longer than i'd like to admit. Mainly dark colours, black, burgundy, chocolate. A year ago i decided i was finally going to go ginger, and it's taken 9 months to find the right dye. Hairdressers couldn't mix the right colour, but then i found Olia. It's brilliant. If you want a subtle ginger, don't bother with this. It's vibrant, rich and eye catching. Exactly what I want. My hair is naturally dark blonde and this covers perfectly, everyone always compliments my hair colour and asks if it's natural as i'm pale skinned. I stock up when it's on offer in supermarkets or pharmacies as the price can be painful when you dye your hair every 3/4 weeks. (Colour doesn't stay in my hair very well) Dove shampoo and conditioner helps hold this colour very well, most things like herbal essences or pantene start to dull it out about 2 weeks after dyeing.
