Skin Ageing in Your 40s

The challenges

On the outside, fine lines around the eyes and mouth become more pronounced as skin becomes drier. UV damaged skin may show more freckles and sunspots and fine thread veins may appear.

On the inside, the collagen and elastin support network starts to break down. Dermal density decreases as does the skin's ability to retain moisture and there is clear evidence of UV-damage.

What can you do?

Make sure you drink plenty of water to hydrate skin from the inside. Stress affects skin quality; so make sure you take time out to relax.

Ultrasound scanning pictures below show improvements to the skin before and after 3 and 12 months' of IMEDEEN Time Perfection use. The outer black line shows the epidermis where skincare creams work. The coloured elements represent collagen, elastin and moisture retaining elements in the dermis. The brighter and more evenly distributed the colours, the better the quality of the skin.
