Boots Premium Water Filter Cartridge 1 month supply

Fits to BRITA MAXTRA jug water filter systems.

This cartridge is designed to reduce the levels of impurities including: aluminium, chlorine, lead, cadmium, copper, zinc and pesticides. It will also reduce limescale caused by temporary hardness.

Immerse cartridge in cold water and gently shale to remove any air bubbles.

Insert the cartridge into the jug's hopper and press firmly to seal.

Fill the jug's hopper from the tap and allow the water to filter. Discard the filtered water. Repeat.

Your Boots water filter is ready to use. Fill the jug's hopper from the tap. Replace lid. Reset the electronic cartridge life indicator counter.

  • Always store your spare filter in the original sealed protective film in a cool and dry place.

How to use

For hygiene reasons the cartridge should be changed every month regardless of use.

The Boots water filter jug life indicator, when set, will count down each week of use automatically. When the display shows all the bars have disappeared the cartridge should be changed.

Hazards and Cautions

Water filtering does not sterilise water and should only be used with cold mains tap water.

Filtered water is not distilled water and should not be used as a subsititute.

Like tap water, filtered water is a perishable product and should be discarded if not used within 24 hours.

Protect water filters from sunlight. We recommend cool storage.

If the filter has not been used for over 24 hours repeat step 3 of the instructions before use.

The filter does not remove flouride from the water.

Filtered water is suitable for someone on a low sodium diet.

The inside of this protective wrapper may be moist as the cartridge is deliberately packed damp.

If the water filters slowly, there may be air trapped within the cartridge. In which case repeat step 1 of the instructions.

For best results the filter cartridge should be kept in contact with water. If the cartridge is allowed to dry out, follow instructions from step 1.

Occasionally when using a new cartridge the first few litres of filtered water can appear to be a tinted blue/black. This colour is due to a small amount of carbon dust being flushed out of the cartridge, this is not harmful as the carbon is food grade and will usually disappear if the cartridge is flushed through a couple of times. This will not affect the performance of the cartridge. more less
